Ralph Hargarten

B. 1962, Germany

Born in Düsseldorf in the roaring sixties, Ralph Hargarten took the path from his passion to a photographic career via internships and freelance assistantship in Düsseldorf and Miami before moving to Hamburg in 1998.

From there he began to work for international clients worldwide, among others in the photographic capitals Paris, London, New York, Berlin, Milan. He traveled the world for his projects and clients, eventually specializing in portraits of people and animals, which he portrays with as much seriousness and grace as his human subjects, giving dignity and personality to each creature in his images.

Beginning with his first dog portraits in 2013, he has since photographed many different types of animals, from insects to gorillas, from alpacas to penguins. His extensive portfolio of animal portraits showcases the beauty of many species native to our planet.
